El Chriz, yucky on the shuffle
1 The White Stripes - As Ugly As I Seem
A good start to this shuffle. Jack counts it down, "1, 2, 3..," and we delve into a nice acoustic ditty. Get Behind Me Satan is maybe not their best album, but it really is probably my favorite. Such a diverse selection.

2 Roman Candle - Something Left To Say
This is the only song I've heard from these alt-country rockers. It's from a V2 Records compilation that I picked up for free at Plan 9. It's a good song. Reminds me of something else... but I've never put my finger on it.

3 Prince - Computer Blue

This song scared me for a second. I recently stepped through the door called Prince... and have been enjoying a lot of his stuff. The production on this song is a bit dated, but still very interesting. I think I've heard this album (Purple Rain) only once or twice in its entirety.

4 Led Zeppelin - Dancin' Days

From, in my opinion, the last really good Led Zeppelin album, Houses of the Holy. Having said that, this isn't one of my favorite tracks. Stone Temple Pilots covered it in the mid 90s, and for some reason it has felt generic to me ever since. A hill among mountains... but a hill nonetheless.

5 Common - It's Your World / Pop's Reprise

The Josh just said that this is a Dilla beat. First time I've heard this song... and it's kind of cool. Has a real 70s R&B sound to it, positive rap. The song ends with little kids describing what they want to be when they grow up.... and then Common's Dad goes all Maya Angelo with a super positive message. Silly? Kind of. But kind of cool too.

6 U2 - God Part II

Bono decides to write a sequel to Lennon's God. I never understood where he was coming from with this song. Some of the lyrics are cool, but sometimes they come off as sophomoric.

7 Walkmen - Another One Goes By

Cool song. Great album.

8 Led Zeppelin - Achillies Last Stand

Another Zeppelin song. A bit too epic.

9 Common - The Feed

Another Common song. Right now, it's not doing anything for me.

10 Led Zeppelin - White Summer / Black Mountain Side

Oh, for the love of god... This is a great song, but come on!

Final thoughts: Maybe my IPod thought it would go with a theme: common. Common the rapper. Common songs. Common artists. Three Zeppelin tracks and two Common tracks sink this boat. Plus, I had stuff to do and couldn't pay attention to the latter tracks anyway. A weak week.
